Arrive Alive
Student Activities will host an event aimed at drunk driving prevention that includes simulators demonstrating how difficult it is to manuever a car after drinking alcohol or sending text messages at the wheel. ACC Drama presents Nunsense
Alvin Community College Drama Department will begin performances of its spring musical Sister Amnesia's Country Western Nunsense Jamboree.The musical, written by Dan Goggin, centers on an eccentric nun with amnesia who slowly comes to realize that she's always wanted to be a country music performer. Performances will run at 8 p.m. on March 3, 8-10. There will be a 2:30 p.m. performance on March 4. Free AutoCAD Workshop
The ACC Industrial Design Technology Department will offer a free AutoCAD workshop from 9 a.m. to noon in Building N, room 108. The drafting 2D and 3D software is widely used by architects, engineers and drafters. The software helps construct many structures and objects including homes, toys, household appliances, skyscrapers and pipelines. Alvin Community College students, faculty and staff will highlight the college's many programs during the annual Open House event starting at 4 p.m. at the Nolan Ryan Center. ACC employees and students will host booths at the event to give information and demonstrate the skills taught in their programs. Open House will feature faculty and advisers, information on Financial Aid, scholarships, campus tours, student services and many student clubs and organizations.
